Wishing my oldest daughter a happy birthday today!
She has grown into an amazing woman.
(The birthday girl is on the right.)
Both of my girls are amazing. The one thing I taught my girls as they were growing up is to always love each other and stay close. I had hoped they would stay close even when they ventured out with their own lives. And my wish came true. They are super close. They even work at the same company, in the same department.
You go girls!

White Christmas
We have a white Christmas here in North Georgia. They said in Georgia, we have had only 12 snows with just a trace amount of snow on Christmas day in the last 130 years. The last recordable snow was 1883.
This morning I woke up to this.
Then we went and had our family Christmas.
Praying over our good food.
Grandson opening presents.
Then it started to snow and we went home, took a nap and woke up to this.
Also, my hunny gave me a surprise this year.
We thank the Lord for a year of blessings and comfort that he has given our family this year. Wishing blessings to you and your family today and always into the New Year!

3 Things...
There are three things I absolutely love.
1. Sweet Tea (especially McDonald's)
2. French Fries
3. Cupcakes
Now as you can see, all 3 things are bad for me.
Sweet tea has caffeine (but I'm still getting my water), french fries are fried (enough said) and cupcakes have fat calories in them (but they are sooooo pretty).
Bad, Bad, Bad...
So I need to give them up or lessen my consumption of them for the New Year.
Help! How can I accomplish this?
But for now and to December 31st, I will continue to enjoy.
Yes, I'm being bad at Christmas time.

My girls...
I have talked about my grandson on this blog before, but today I would like to introduce you to my daughters. Both my girls are God-fearing ladies and I am very proud of them. The picture below is a shot taken of them at a Heart Walk in Atlanta.
As a mom, while your kids are growing up, you might wonder if you are raising them to walk in the right direction. For me that was God's direction. Are they going to help people when there is a need or are they going to be selfish adults? I am so blessed to have wonderful daughters. Thank you dear Jesus for my girls.

Grandson night...
This is my grandson.
I have a free standing appointment to get him every other Friday night
so this weekend was our weekend.
He colored.
He washed and waxed his Little Tykes car.
(Just kidding about the waxing)
He is our joy. Thank you Jesus for our grandchildren.

My First Love...
Anyway, I raised my children different from the way I was raised. I kept up with their likes & dis-likes as well as loving them unconditionally. I was wondering, did you have a teen crush? Could it be Donny along with me or David Cassidy, Shaun Cassidy or Leif Garrett?
Who was on your list?

Age old sock mystery!
Where do socks go after you put them in the dryer?
The story goes like this.
I count them as I put them in to be washed. Then I put them in the dryer and go back 30 minutes later, pull all the clothes out to be folded and end up with a least one sock missing. Poof. Favorite sock gone again. So, do normal routine like lay sock to the side in sock drawer hoping one day the missing sock will magically appear to be reunited with each other.
Now, if they do not find each other in about 3 months, you have two choices:
1. Toss (or)
2. Introduce the two mis-matched socks to each other and wear in the future. No one will ever know!

Sunday Service
Believe - to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something; although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so. (from Dictionary.com)
Acts 16:31 - And they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (from Bible KJV)
The dictionary definition is not so far from the Bible's teachings. The concordance in the Bible lists 133 verses using a form of the word Believe. Powerful word. I love reading about this word. Reminds me that I can't see the Lord but believing in him gives me an inner peace that he is watching over me and my family every minute of the day. Thank you Jesus.

Tree Trimmings
I have always been the one to put up my tree the weekend before Thanksgiving to lets just say, get the job out of the way. When my kids were growing up we always had a big tree. Lots to decorate and take down. Now that they are grown and gone, I wanted to just have a simple little tree for me and Bearman. I got my wish. My hubby calls it, the Charlie Brown tree. To me it looks like an alpine tree you would see in the Colorado mountains. I love it. See what you think.....before & after.....I would like to hear what kind of tree tradition you have.

Sexiest Man Alive
People Magazine just came out with this year's sexiest man alive. It is Ryan Reynolds. Even though I do like Ryan Reynolds, I would like to put out there in the universe this guy called Tom Welling. He plays Clark Kent in the CW TV series Smallville as Superman. Take a look. Just saying!

Holiday Time
It's that time of year again. The Holidays. The time you spend with family and friends at get-togethers, parties or just at home with the hunny and kids. Stores have already decorated and set out stuff for Christmas which gets me in the mood. Breaking out the Christmas CD's as we speak. My favorites, of course, is Amy Grant's. I have all of hers. If you know me personally, you would of guessed that. Last year I ran across Marie Osmond's. It is a good one too. So now I need to get out a pen and paper and start making my list. Let's try to make this holiday season a little less stressful.
Here is my list of suggestions:
1. Make list, check it twice.......ha,ha
2. Shop local
3. Shop at the "later" times that the stores offer now
4. Buy wrapping paper, bows and tape now so you don't find yourself out at the last minute(Photo credit: Country Sampler Mag Online)

60 years married!
Yesterday we went to my in-law's 60th wedding anniversary party. Lots of family and friends met us to celebrate this monumental accomplishment. This day and age, being married 60 years is unheard of. But, they did it and congrats to them. I am on my second marriage so to get to 60 years married I will be.....I think dead! But anyway, aren't they a cute couple?

WWCreate & WWCook
I love when it's time to receive my Where Women Create magazine (available now). If you have seen this magazine before, you know it features the creative spaces of women who create items that make them happy. I have my own creative space in an upstairs bedroom. This space is just for me. I can work on jewelry, do scrapbook pages and write pages for my romance novel all within my own little space. I don't have to worry about putting anything away. Consider creating your own little corner if you don't already have one.
For those who like to cook, premiering Dec 1st is Where Women Cook magazine. It features women who love to cook and they showcase their very own kitchens for inspiration. You might want to check it out.
Happy creating and happy cooking !

Give me candy, please!
Me and the grandson along with paw-paw waiting in the wings, went trick-or-treating at our local outlet mall. He didn't get much candy but he mostly enjoyed seeing all the other kids dressed up. The one that tickled him the most was an older boy that was dressed up like a trash can. The kids (and the parents of course) were very creative this year. He went as a Home Depot employee. Had a fun time.
Next preparation......Thanksgiving!

Pumpkins and Ghosts, Oh MY!
Last week I had the opportunity to meet my grandson's Pre-K class at Burt's Pumpkin Farm. When the bus pulled up and he got off, I realized just how big he is getting. Yes, I am the grandma that gets teary eyed because he is growing up so fast. My nickname that I've always called him was "pumpkin". Ironically, he has a fascination with pumpkins. We had a fun day and all the kids were amazed by the sea of pumpkins and they enjoyed the hayride through the woods. Spooky.
Everyone have a safe Halloween.

First Post
I decided to start a blog. This is a bit scary but I have enjoyed viewing wonderful blogs over the past year and they have inspired me. I am a wife, mother and grandmother starting the second half of my life. So I am inviting you to take the journey with me through Blogland as I enjoy my grandchildren, writing my first romance novel and children's book and just enjoying life as God gives it to me.
