Not a creature was stirring, not even a........

Mouse........The mice have been at my house since Halloween....

I had put these Martha Stewart "Mice" on my stairs for Halloween. Love them! (Found this idea on Leanne's "LittleThingCalledLife.blogspot.com" and asked where she got them. Thanks Leanne).

I didn't want to remove them yet, so I went and got some holiday stickers at Target, and put a few out in the mouse holes and made them part of my Christmas decor.

They are just gonna stay around here awhile.....

Hope you have safe and happy shopping days ahead.

My Homemade Jewerly Display

I have looked for many months in the retail world for an item that would hold my long necklaces. No luck.  So I started surfing the many blogs that I follow and did find some ideas.

City Farmhouse Blog

 Forever Cottage Blog

and my favorite.......
Farmgirl Paints Blog

All the blogs I mentioned above
are inspiring places to check out............

But carrying on.....
Recently I was visiting friends in Tennessee and we went antiquing in their small town.  I ran across a tall ladder that they had painted white and had screwed cup hooks on it and then they displayed many things on the ladder such as handkerchiefs and small pillows attached with just safety pins.

Then the light bulb went off in my head.  I could do my own "smaller" version of this for my closet.  So I took a picture with my camera phone vowing to make one when I got home.  And I did.

We took an old bunk bed ladder and painted it white and added the cup holder hooks.  My hubby attached it to my closet wall and the wonderful result is below.  I am very pleased with it. Thanks for your help Hunny.

How do you like it?

Ghosts, Spanish Moss and Pirates, Oh My!

My daughters and I took our first mother-daughter "overnight" trip. We traveled to Savannah. I know, that is still in Georgia but we did a 4 night/5 day trip with just us girls and it was soooo nice. Why Savannah you ask?  Well we have always shared a love of the possibility of Ghosts and Spooky stuff.

When the girls were younger, we all three dressed alike on vacation.  I asked them if they would wear matching t-shirts now and they firmly said "no".  So I got us almost matching rings anyway.  They were fine with that.

We did a haunted house tour one day that was Tapps Certified as a Haunted House.  They said sometimes the battery would drain from camera's and then be alright once you reach outside.
Well it happened to mine.  Spooky!

We also ate at the Pirate House for lunch buffet.  It was wonderful.

I got to see Johnny Depp and even smooch with him.  I wish!

How do you like my Pirate shirt?

The Pirate version of the "Bachelorette"

Went to Tybee Island to see the ocean.  The tide was way out there and it was so hot I didn't want to walk 1/2 mile to get to the surf.   So we climbed the Lighthouse, or should I say the girls did.  I made it about half way and waited in a cubby hole with a window until they got done.  I guess now I am showing my age because my knees and breath could not take the climb.

View from top, compliment of the girls.....

My version of looking out the Lighthouse......

My youngest celebrated her 27th birthday while we were there.
Hail to the Queen!

We still wanted a ghost experience so we did a 90 minute walking
tour at night.  Spooky!

I did get my way with wearing shirts alike when the girls saw these!
Boo Ya'll

I still get happy and giddy with them as I did when they were little girls.  I am so blessed and thankful that my girls still want to hang around with their mom.
We always said we were the 3 musketeers.

So hopefully you saw by the photos that we had a great time in Savannah and that just because we all grew up, we still have the same interests and love each other very much.

In memory.....

This is my father-in-law.  He passed away this past week and will be truly missed.  He was a character larger than life.  And he loved life but could no longer fight the good fight.  He passed away in his sleep early Tuesday morning 4/5/11.  He was 83.  I have known him for 12 years and he was definitely one of my favorite people.  He was a funny man and some of his funny sayings will stay with me forever.  I will miss his hugs.  Love you Papa.

Yellow....

I am into the color yellow right now.  Goes along with Spring right?  So naturally feeling all springy and such, I was shopping and this yellow purse just jumped right out of it's shelf and landed in my arms and said "Take me home please".  So since it asked nicely, I did.  Ha Ha. Do I sound crazy?  Family, don't answer that!

(purchased at Kohl's)
I love the purse so much , I went back and got it in black too.
Cause you can't always carry a yellow purse.

So in honor of Spring and all the yellow you are able to find around right now,
enjoy the photos!
