Happy Birthday Girl!

Wishing my oldest daughter a happy birthday today!
She has grown into an amazing woman.

(The birthday girl is on the right.)

Both of my girls are amazing.  The one thing I taught my girls as they were growing up is to always love each other and stay close.  I had hoped they would stay close even when they ventured out with their own lives.  And my wish came true.  They are super close. They even work at the same company, in the same department.

                                          You go girls!

White Christmas

We have a white Christmas here in North Georgia.  They said in Georgia, we have had only 12 snows with just a trace amount of snow on Christmas day in the last 130 years.  The last recordable snow was 1883.

This morning I woke up to this.

Then we went and had our family Christmas.

                                                        Praying over our good food.

                                                        Grandson opening presents.

Then it started to snow and we went home, took a nap and woke up to this.

Also, my hunny gave me a surprise this year.

This necklace is lovely.
                                                                     Thanks hunny!

We thank the Lord for a year of blessings and comfort that he has given our family this year.  Wishing blessings to you and your family today and always into the New Year!

3 Things...

There are three things I absolutely love.

                                                   1.  Sweet Tea (especially McDonald's)

                                                                  2.  French Fries

                                                                     3.  Cupcakes

Now as you can see, all 3 things are bad for me.

Sweet tea has caffeine (but I'm still getting my water), french fries are fried (enough said) and cupcakes have fat calories in them (but they are sooooo pretty).

                                                          Bad, Bad, Bad...

So I need to give them up or lessen my consumption of them for the New Year.
Help! How can I accomplish this?

But for now and to December 31st, I will continue to enjoy.
Yes, I'm being bad at Christmas time.

My girls...

I have talked about my grandson on this blog before, but today I would like to introduce you to my daughters.  Both my girls are God-fearing ladies and I am very proud of them.  The picture below is a shot taken of them at a Heart Walk in Atlanta.

As a mom, while your kids are growing up, you might wonder if you are raising them to walk in the right direction.  For me that was God's direction.  Are they going to help people when there is a need or are they going to be selfish adults?  I am so blessed to have wonderful daughters.  Thank you dear Jesus for my girls.

Grandson night...

                                                             This is my grandson.

I have a free standing appointment to get him every other Friday night
so this weekend was our weekend.

                                                                    He colored.

He washed and waxed his Little Tykes car.
                                                        (Just kidding about the waxing)

He is our joy.   Thank you Jesus for our grandchildren.

My First Love...

Happy Birthday to my first love today.  It's Donny Osmond......and yes I've had to share him with many, many girls.  One of my more happier childhood memories was when my Dad walked in from work with a Donny Osmond album.  I had only the radio to listen to his songs, always waiting for Donny or the Osmonds to come on.  He handed me the album and said, "You deserve this for all you do around here."  I will never forget that feeling of ....yes, someone around here is paying attention to what I like in my life.

Anyway, I raised my children different from the way I was raised.  I kept up with their likes & dis-likes as well as loving them unconditionally.  I was wondering, did you have a teen crush?  Could it be Donny along with me or David Cassidy, Shaun Cassidy or Leif Garrett?

Who was on your list?

Age old sock mystery!

Where do socks go after you put them in the dryer?
      The story goes like this.
I count them as I put them in to be washed.  Then I put them in the dryer and go back 30 minutes later, pull all the clothes out to be folded and end up with a least one sock missing.   Poof.  Favorite sock gone again.  So, do normal routine like lay sock to the side in sock drawer hoping one day the missing sock will magically appear to be reunited with each other.
Now, if they do not find each other in about 3 months, you have two choices:
1. Toss  (or)
2. Introduce the two mis-matched socks to each other and wear in the future.  No one will ever know!
